Justin Timberlake Made This Election Even Stranger Than It Already Was

Just when you think 2016 can’t get any weirder… Here comes Justin.

The “Can’t Stop The Feeling” singer made headlines when he flew to his home town of Memphis, TN for early voting. He snapped a selfie inside the voting booth to encourage his Instagram followers to vote.

The only problem is that, according to Vox, it has been illegal to take photos inside Tennessee polling locations since 2015.

The Shelby County District Attorney’s office issued a statement in which they said that Timberlake’s actions were “under review.”

The charge could have carried a fine of $50 (you know, the denomination of bill that JT uses to shine his shoes) and/or 30 days in jail. Fortunately for Timberlake, the DA’s office issued a second statement later in the day saying that there was no review and apologized that the earlier statement got out claiming that it was a mistake.

Don’t worry Utah, according to the associated press it is completely legal snap and vote!
