Tate McRae is a Canadian singer, songwriter, and dancer who gained prominence at a young age. Born on July 1, 2003, in Calgary, Alberta, McRae first gained recognition as a contestant on the reality show So You Think You Can Dance in 2016, where she finished in the top 3 despite being only 13 years old. Her strong dancing background influenced her later music videos, often featuring intricate choreography.
Her music career took off with the viral success of her song “One Day” in 2017, but it was her 2020 single “you broke me first” that brought her international fame. The song became a massive hit, charting on the Billboard Hot 100 and amassing millions of streams across platforms.
