Celebrity Chef Anthony Bourdain, 61, Dies By Suicide

Celebrity chef, best-selling author, and host of CNN’s Parts Unknown was found dead in his hotel room at age 61.

He was in France filming Parts Unknown. The suspected cause of death is suicide. 

CNN released a statement early this morning. “It is with extraordinary sadness we can confirm the death of our friend and colleague, Anthony Bourdain. His love of great adventure, new friends, fine food and drink and the remarkable stories of the world made him a unique storyteller.”

Bourdain shot to superstardom with the 2000 release of his book, Kitchen Confidential: Adventures in the Culinary Underbelly.

The statement continued. “His talents never ceased to amaze us and we will miss him very much. Our thoughts and prayers are with his daughter and family at this incredibly difficult time.”
