If you’re under the age of 30, your teenage years were likely defined by Degrassi: The Next Generation. The Canadian teen soap opera tackled everything from STD’s, internet predators, teen pregnancy, coming out, and, infamously, school shootings.
If you didn’t watch it, you may not know that Degrassi is where rapper Drake got his start. He played Jimmy, whose character was shot by a fellow student. He spent the remainder of his time on the show in a wheelchair. The last we saw of Jimmy, he flew to France to participate in a Stem Cell research program, hoping to regain the use of his legs. Remember, this is a soap opera.
