Saturday Morning Serial is a weekly bonus episode of The Mix Morning Fix podcast in which Jackson tells Jon and Monroe a true crime story. Though it is not explicit, we do discuss murder and other violent crimes. This episode may not be suitable for young listeners.
This week, in honor of Salt Lake City Police Department’s Forensic Science Week, we will discuss how a hot dog napkin closed a 26-year-old cold case murder.

26 years after Childs’ murder, Jerry Westrom was arrested for the crime after DNA evidence allegedly confirmed him as the killer. He is currently out on bail and has not entered an official plea.
Forensic Science Week recognizes the important role that proper forensic science plays in the investigation of crimes throughout the nation, from exonerating the innocent to identifying the guilty. #ForensicWeek #ForensicScienceWeek @SLCgov @ForSciWeek pic.twitter.com/F1Xy0qdfNg
