Designer Kate Spade was found dead in a New York City apartment this morning in what is being reported as a suicide.
Law enforcement sources tell TMZ that the 55-year-old fashion designer was found dead at 10:20 AM ET, and had hanged herself in her Park Avenue home. She was pronounced dead on the scene. It is also being reported that a suicide note was found at the apartment. Kate was married to Andy Spade. He is the brother of actor David Spade. The couple had been married since 1994.
Kate sold her bag and clothing line in 2007 and took time off to raise the couple’s daughter. In 2016, Kate Spade had launched a new fashion brand called Frances Valentine. The brand was named after her daughter.
