Megan Fox Slams Hollywood, Calls It “Ruthlessly Misogynistic”

Megan Fox was a busy working actress in her teens and 20s but it’s been a long time since we’ve seen her on the big screen and now we know why.

Fox has come out to call out Hollywood’s biggest male directors for their misogyny. In a long thread on Instagram, Fox says that Michael Bay didn’t directly assault or prey on her in a sexual way but there were sexual overtones in her acting that were inappropriate at her age.

A resurfaced interview with Jimmy Kimmel shows Fox talking about how Michael Bay has her dance in a bikini under a waterfall in Bad Boys II, “At 15. I was in tenth grade. So that’s a microcosm of how Bay’s mind works,” said Fox. Kimmel’s response had people online furious, “Well that’s really a microcosm of how all our minds work. Some of us have the decency to suppress those thoughts and pretend that they don’t exist,” responded Kimmel.

Megan later said she never came out with her mistreatment during the MeToo movement, “I just didn’t think based on how I’d been received by people, and by feminists, that I would be a sympathetic victim. And I thought if ever there were a time where the world would agree that it’s appropriate to victim-shame someone, it would be when I come forward with my story,” Megan said in a 2018 New York Times interview.

Have you experienced misogynistic actions within your industry? What changes do you think should happen to keep actresses safe?
