Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s recently finalized divorce is the most searched in America, a new study reveals.
The study, conducted by experts Learn Divorce Law, analyzed a comprehensive list of celebrity divorces of the last 20 years to reveal the most searched one in America as well around the globe.
The long and tedious split between Kim Kardashian and Kanye West takes first place with 17,650 average monthly searches in the US alone, and a whopping 45,000 average monthly searches worldwide. The divorce, which was filed in February 2021 by Kim, was only recently finalized after almost two years. This, together with West’s behavior on social media has widely attracted the attention of fans and overlookers to the divorce, which easily became the most searched and the most popular.
Second is the divorce between Adele and Simon Konecki with 16,000 average monthly searches in the US and 21,000 average searches worldwide. The couple split after only two years, as the British singer filed for divorce in 2019, which was then finalized in 2021. The separation got a lot of attention, also thanks to Adele’s newest album “30” which came out in late 2021 and was confirmed to be inspired by the breakup and the heartache that came with it, as well as motherhood and other aspects of the singer’s life.
Jason Momoa and Lisa Bonet’s divorce comes in third with 7,000 average searches in the US and 13,000 average monthly searches worldwide. The couple had been together since 2005 but did not get married until 2017, therefore the split happened after 17 years together, five of which as husband and wife.
Further down on the list, the “recent” split between Billy Ray Cyrus and Tish Cyrus is fourth with 4,730 average monthly searches in the US and 6,170 searches worldwide. The couple had married in 1993 and filed for divorce in 2010 for the first time, dropping the proceedings after a few months. However, in April 2022 Tish Cyrus filed for divorce a second time, revealing that they had been separated for more than two years, since 2020.
The top five closes with Jeff Bezos and MacKenzie Scott, whose divorce got 3,100 average monthly searches in the US and 8,300 average searches worldwide. The split is famous mostly for the amount Bezos had to pay for the settlement, which amounted at 4% of Amazon’s stocks (US$35.6 billion) and which made Scott the third-wealthiest woman in the United States and the 35th wealthiest individual in the world.
