This year, with the kids growing older, my wife and I are trying to watch a Christmas movie every night leading up to Christmas. Truthfully, it’s a movie every OTHER night, because we only get through half of one before bedtime. With so many great films to chose from, I present to you my top 7 Christmas movies…
7) HOW THE GRINCH STOLE CHRISTMAS
I love Jim Carrey as the Grinch in this adaptation of Dr. Seuss’ Christmas story.
6) THE SANTA CLAUSE
Sure, it starts dark with killing Santa, but seeing the North Pole and Tim Allen’s transformation is worth it!
5) A CHRISTMAS STORY
A classic that runs non-stop at my house on Christmas day!
4) SCROOGED
There is something about this remake of the Dickens’ classic that I just love. My guess is, it’s Bill Murray being Bill Murray. I love it.
3) ELF
My daughter Ella is like Buddy the Elf. She thinks that sugar is a food group.
2) CHRISTMAS VACATION
I haven’t shown it to my kids yet, but this is one that my wife and I watch every year!
1) LOVE ACTUALLY
Sing along…”I feel it in my fingers…I feel it in my toes…”
With so many great Christmas movies a bunch were left off the list. Honorable mention goes to “Home Alone” and “Ernest Saves Christmas”!
