105 Days of Love: Helping Homeless Women

We want to extend our most heartfelt gratitude for everyone who helped us with our homeless women supply drive.

If you missed it, Jackson and our blogger Sara No H stopped by Harmon’s in Roy to collect donations for homeless women here in Utah.

It was all part of an initiative headed up by a young woman named Sydney. Here is what she had to say about the project on Facebook.

” [International Women’s Day] was 2 days ago. As women we are obligated to stand with other women, empower them, help them, and protect them. These women include homeless women. The women who have been forgotten.”

“I hope that people see this post and understand one thing: this project took me approximately 3 weeks to complete, took no time away from my work life, and cost me only the money I decided to match. If I decided not to match the donations I was given I would have put in $0 and about 8 hours of my time total. It’s not hard to give back to your community. Helping people is one of the most rewarding feelings. Nothing but greatness comes from the hope you’re able to put back into people who might have lost it along their journey.”

On Friday, Sydney sent us the final total. With help from our amazing listeners, generous businesses, and a little hard work, Sydney was able to complete:

160 female hygiene bags stuffed with: 5 tampons, 2 pads, 2 liners.
95 female sanitary bags stuffed with: deodorant, soap, toothpaste, a toothbrush, lotion, emergen-C, and hand sanitizer.
70 men’s sanitary packs stuffed with: a razor, toothpaste, toothbrush, emergency-c, soap, lotion, and hand sanitizer.

Check out the packs below (also, Sydney’s ADORABLE dog!)
