If You Want to Be Perfectly Happy, Sleep For Seven Hours and Six Minutes

Who knew the key to being happy was sleeping for a weirdly exact amount of time?

A new survey found that if you want to be, quote, “perfectly happy,” you should sleep for exactly seven hours and six minutes.  Not seven hours and five minutes.  Not seven hours and seven minutes.  EXACTLY seven hours and six minutes.

If you want to be pretty happy, sleep for somewhere between six hours and 48 minutes to seven hours.

And if you sleep for anything less than six hours and 48 minutes, expect to be miserable.

For some reason, the survey didn’t look at what happens if you sleep MORE than seven hours and six minutes, so maybe there’s perfect happiness somewhere in there too.  We don’t know.

But the survey DID find the ideal sleeping conditions, at least:  Make sure it’s mostly dark but not pitch black . . . it should be quiet but not totally silent . . . and you shouldn’t do work or play video games right before bed.

People Are Using Coca-Cola as Tanning Oil and They Really Shouldn’t

There’s a fine line between being MacGyver and being a damn fool.

Apparently, there’s a new trend where people who don’t have tanning oil improvise . . . by putting COCA-COLA all over their bodies before they go out in the sun.

And they say the caramel color in the Coke helps bronze them up good and quick.

Unfortunately, it’s a terrible idea.

Coke contains a lot of chemicals, but none of them provide any SPF protection . . . so you’re really just accelerating the chance of BURNING your skin and potentially even developing skin cancer down the line.

The Five Worst Body Language Habits

A recent survey asked job interviewers how important your body language is.  And they said the most important one is making good EYE CONTACT.

The five they notice the most are eye contact . . . facial expressions . . . your posture . . . whether or not you have a good handshake . . . and fidgeting in your seat.

Here are tips for all five that might help in a job interview, or any situation where you want to seem confident . . .

1.  Eye contact.  Make sure you maintain regular eye contact.  But look away sometimes, or it can seem overly aggressive.

2.  Facial expressions.  Don’t be stone cold serious the whole time.  Smiling a little bit can make you seem warmer and more enthusiastic.

3.  Posture.  Sit up straight, and lean forward a little bit.  It makes you seem confident, and more engaged in the conversation.

4.  Your handshake.  Make sure it’s firm, but don’t crush the other person’s hand.  And don’t let it drag on too long.  Three or four seconds is plenty.

5.  Fidgeting.  Just try to catch yourself doing it.  Things like bouncing your legs or tapping your fingers can make you seem anxious and intimidated.
