The Emmy Nominees Are Out

The nominees for this year’s Primetime Emmy Awards are out, and once again, “Game of Thrones” leads the way with 24 nominations.  “American Horror Story: Freak Show” was next with 19, followed by the HBO miniseries “Olive Kitteridge” with 13. Others that got 10 or more include:  “Transparent”, “Mad Men”, “House of Cards”, “American Crime”,”Boardwalk Empire”, and Queen Latifah’s HBO movie “Bessie”. Not surprisingly, HBO leads all networks with 126 nominations. ABC is next with 42, followed by CBS (41), NBC (41), FX (38), Fox (35), and Netflix (34). Speaking of streaming services, Amazon Prime Instant Video picked up 12 nominations in its first year of Emmy contention, mostly for “Transparent”, the show about a transgender woman and her family. Fox will air “The 67th Primetime Emmy Awards” live on September 20th.  Andy Samberg is hosting. TLC Has Canceled “19 Kids and Counting”

In the wake of Josh Duggar’s molestation scandal earlier this year, TLC has officially canceled “19 Kids and Counting”.  But apparently, the Duggars’ relationship with TLC isn’t over yet. They issued a statement yesterday saying, quote, “We look forward to working with TLC on this upcoming special documentary and hope that it is an encouragement to many.”  There’s no word what they’re talking about. They also said, quote, “With God’s grace and help Josh, our daughters and our entire family overcame a terrible situation, found healing and a way forward.  We are so pleased with the wonderful adults they have all become. We appreciate the love, support, prayers and kindness extended to us by many of you.  You have deeply touched our hearts and encouraged us, during this time.” 19 Kids and Counting” ran for nine seasons. Jeff Dunham Sues Puppet Maker for Ripping off Walter

Jeff Dunham knows a cheap knockoff of his most famous dummy when he sees one and now he’s taking a small time puppet maker to court. According to court documents, Jeff is suing Anthony Horn for making a dummy that looks very similar to Jeff’s “Walter the Dummy.” He says Horn has been selling the dummy online for anywhere between $350, on up to $1,000. Jeff sent Tony a cease and desist earlier this year, but says Tony ignored it. Jeff created Walter back in 1987, and filed to trademark him in 2010. He’s suing for all the profits from Tony’s knockoffs, and best he wants all of them destroyed. Get more here.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt Sings About His Love for Moms

Gordon-Levitt loves moms, in a new video called “Sexy Motha,” Gordon-Levitt and the Gregory Brothers sing about their love for mothers and all of the amazing things mothers do. The famous actor and his friend in the video love eating healthy, playing with kids, reading Dr. Seuss and attending PTA meetings. It isn’t until the end of the video that viewers find out the two guys are actually declaring their love for all-things mom-releated at a PTA meeting. Ugly Betty star Ana Ortiz makes a guest appearance in the music video as one sexy mother.
