KFC Has Hired Norm MacDonald to be the New Colonel
Three months after KFC reintroduced “Colonel Sanders,” they have a new actor portraying him. The late founder of the fast food chain had been played over the summer by “Saturday Night Live” announcer and former cast member Darrell Hammond. As of Sunday night, there was a new Colonel in town, portrayed by fellow “SNL” alum Norm MacDonald. In the new ads, MacDonald’s Sanders claims that the one we’ve been seeing on TV these past few months is an impostor. The Hammond ads were hated by one out of five people. How many SNL actors can they turn into the colonel? Get more here.
Rihanna Shuts Down NBA Player Who Claimed to be Dating Her
Rihanna put NBA player Matt Barnes in his place for all of her 24.5 million followers to see after the athlete said some things that she wasn’t too happy about. Dating rumors between the two sparked a while ago after Matt made it clear that he had a major crush on her. He made her his #WCW on Instagram a few months ago, and flirted with her over Twitter a couple years ago when she sat courtside at his Lakers games. Jessica Alba Is Now One of the Richest Self-Made Women in the U.S.
The latest numbers show that Jessica Alba’s non-toxic product line The Honest Company is worth $1.7 billion. And since she has a 20% stake, that means her net worth is in the neighborhood of $340 million. That makes Jessica among the 40 richest self-made women in the U.S. She’s worth more than Beyoncé and Judge Judy, who are both in the $250 million range. She still trails: Oprah ($3 billion), former eBay CEO Meg Whitman ($2.1 billion), Madonna ($520 million), and Kathy Ireland ($420 million).
Her company has been the target of online backlash after consumers took to social media to complain that the all-natural product line’s sunscreen is ineffective. The sunscreen is made without synthetic chemicals, its ingredients include non-nano zinc oxide (the only active ingredient), beeswax, shea butter, flower extracts and natural oils. According to dermatologist Dr. Kafele Hodari says zinc oxide is the “hallmark ingredient of any effective sunscreen. Sunscreen should be applied evenly and liberally,” he says. “The biggest mistake people make with sunscreen is that they do not properly re-apply it. Sunscreen should be applied approximately every two hours, and it should be applied every 80 minutes if people are participating in water activity or sports.” Get more here.
George Zimmerman is Selling Paintings to Raise Money for a Gun Shop Who’s Being Sued For Banning Muslims
George Zimmerman is selling paintings of the Confederate flag with a 2nd Amendment message on them, in order to benefit the legal fund of a gun shop owner who’s being sued for banning Muslims. Andy Hallinan is the owner of the Florida Gun Shop, and last month he banned Muslims, which earned him a lawsuit from the Council on American-Islamic Relations. So Zimmerman painted a picture of the Confederate flag, along with the slogan, “The 2nd Protects Our 1st.” Signed prints of the painting are selling for 50 bucks apiece. Both guys will get a cut, and so will the Boys and Girls Club of America. Everybody who buys one gets entered into a raffle to win the original painting, which could be worth big bucks. He once sold an original painting on eBay for $100,000. Zimmerman and this Hallinan guy even made a mini-documentary, which is really just 10 minutes and 46 seconds of pretty hardcore right-wing talking points. Get more here.
