2015 MTV Video Music Award Highlights

The 2015 “MTV Video Music Awards” were last night. Miley Cyrus hosted, and Taylor Swift won four trophies, including Video of the Year for “Bad Blood”.

Nicki Minaj called Miley Cyrus the B-word after winning Best Hip-Hop Video for “Anaconda”. It’s because when they first announced the MTV VMA nominations, Nicki complained that she didn’t get enough, because she’s not skinny and white. Then last week, Miley Cyrus told the “New York Times” that Nicki was acing jealous, and called her “not too kind.” So after winning last night, Nicki said, quote, “And now, back to this [b-word] that had a lot to say about me the other day in the press. Miley, what’s good?” And she shot Miley a mean look. But Miley replied right away. Quote, “Hey, we’re all in this industry, we all do interviews, and we all know how they manipulate [stuff]. Nicki, contratu-[effing]-lations.” Only she responded so quickly, some people thought the whole thing was staged. Especially since Nicki seemed to smile right before the cameras cut away.

WARNING! The video is uncensored.
You might remember that Taylor Swift got in a brief Twitter war with Nicki over her “VMA” complaints too, but they made up. And last night they solidified the peace by taking the stage together.

Justin Bieber either cried or pretended to cry after doing a mashup of “Where Are U Now” and “What Do You Mean”. It was right after he did some Pink-style wire acrobatics, so maybe his harness was just too tight? Here’s a

clip of just that emotional moment . . .

If anything was meant as a message to Selena Gomez though, she didn’t get it. While Justin was performing, she was backstage chowing on burgers with Taylor Swift and the other “Bad Blood” video girls. They ran in a pack all night. Kanye West got the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award, and finished his speech by announcing he’s running for President in 2020. Taylor Swift introduced him with a nod to when he infamously interrupted her. Quote, “I first met Kanye West six years ago at this show. Since then, we’ve had a lot of time to talk about a lot of different things.”

Then Kanye started a rambling speech that stretched over more than 10 agonizing minutes. He actually started out sounding more humble than usual. He talked about how people perceive him, saying, quote, “When I go to a baseball game and 60,000 people boo me, it crosses my mind a little bit.” He also sort of apologized for interrupting Taylor, saying, quote, “If I had a daughter at that time, would I have went on stage and grabbed the mic from someone else’s?”

And he admitted that in fighting for certain artists, he’s also been disrespectful to some artists. But then he started going off on award shows, who deserves to win, and who doesn’t.

He said, quote, “I still don’t understand award shows. I don’t understand how they get five people who work their entire lives, to come, stand on a carpet and, for the first time in their lives, be judged on a chopping block and have the opportunity to be considered a loser. I don’t understand it, bruh! I been conflicted, bro! I just wanted people to like me more. But [eff] that, bro!”

And then came the big announcement. He said, quote, “We the millennials, bro. This is a new mentality. We’re not going to control our kids with brands. We’re not going to teach low self-esteem and hate to our kids. “We’re going to teach our kids that they can be something . . . to believe in themselves. If my grandfather was here right now, he would not let me back down. I don’t know what I’m [going to] lose after this. It don’t matter, though, because it ain’t about me. It’s about ideas, bro! New ideas, people with ideas, people who believe in truth.

“And yes, as you probably coulda guess by this moment, I have decided in 2020 to run for president.”

Miley had several crazy costumes, and closed out the night by announcing a brand new album online for free.

“Scream” and “A Nightmare on Elm Street” Director Wes Craven Has Died

Wes Craven, the legendary director of “A Nightmare on Elm Street” and all four “Scream” movies, died yesterday after a battle with brain cancer. He was 76. Here’s a tribute from his official Twitter. Craven first made a name for himself with the very gritty and brutal “Last House on the Left” in 1972 . . . and “The Hills Have Eyes” in 1977. Both later received way less effective remakes. “Elm Street” came in 1984, and Wes returned to the series two more times by contributing to the screenplay of “Elm Street 3: The Dream Warriors” . . . and by writing, directing, and playing himself in “Wes Craven’s New Nightmare” in 1994. The original “Elm Street” was Johnny Depp’s first movie role, by the way. Craven also gave Sharon Stone her first starring role in a 1981 horror flick called “Deadly Blessing”. The final “Scream” movie, “Scream 4”, came out in 2011. But the franchise just became a series on MTV. Its first season finale is tomorrow night. Fellow horror legend JOHN CARPENTER paid tribute to Wes on Facebook.

And here are some tributes from “Scream” stars Courteney Cox, Rose McGowan, and Henry Winkler.

Lindsay Lohan Stripped Naked at a Wedding and Said She’d Been Drugged

It’s probably not a good idea to invite Lindsay Lohan to your wedding, and some rich couple learned that the hard way. According to reports, she was not on her best behavior when she attended the wedding of a millionaire and a model in Italy earlier this month. Supposedly, she painted her nails during the ceremony, and kept playing with her phone. At the reception, the announcer made a joke at her expense, and she was not happy about that. She stormed out, and then proceeded to lose her mind. A source says, quote, “She took off all her clothes and got completely naked and was running around her villa screaming that she’d been drugged.” An EMT showed up to check her out, but the source says she was fine, quote, “She could walk and talk. She wasn’t slurring or anything. She was upset about the joke being made about her. She just wanted the attention.” A rep for the groom tells the “New York Post” that none of this is true. But it’s hard to give her the benefit of the doubt. Over the weekend, she posted a video of her doing some sexy dancing on a yacht . . . and it sure looks like she’s on something. She’s since deleted it. Get more here.

Marina del Rey Residents Sue The Kardashians

You remember last week? When we told you about the birthday bash Khloe Kardashian threw for her new NBA beau James Harden? They had a large fireworks display that went off at midnight, waking the entire community. Well Twelve Marina del Rey homeowners have banned together to file a small claims court lawsuit against Khloe and her mom Kris. The resident’s are each seeking $7,500, which is the maximum amount you can seek in small claims court. One homeowner says the fireworks woke her child, who had a bit of meltdown. Another homeowner says that her MS has gotten worse since the incident. All the homeowners say that they suffered from emotional distress, and they say money isn’t what they want. Lawyers aren’t allowed in small claims court, so if the family wants to fight the charges, they’ll have to appear in person. The Homeowners want a chance to confront the family and get an apology. Nicki Minaj’s Wax Figure Now Has Bodyguards

Nicki Minaj’s wax figure was getting violated by patrons at Madame Tussauds. The figure she call “iconic,” was unveiled earlier this month in Las Vegas, and features Nicki on all fours, in a scene from her “Anaconda” music video. It was only a matter of time before people started posing explicitly with the wax Nicki and shared the evidence over social media. Nicki retweeted a fan’s tweet to the museum of a photo of a man with his face in all up in wax Nicki’s rear end with the fan saying, “Srsly they need to stop.” The museum responded to the fan by saying a barrier had been added to prevent photos like the one the fan spotted.
