Jimmy Fallon Appeared on Stephen Colbert’s First “Late Show”
Stephen Colbert hosted his first “Late Show” yesterday, and it was fine. He didn’t re-invent the wheel or anything, but he’s more than capable, and there were some awesome moments: The show started with a montage of Colbert in various locations, with random people, singing the National Anthem. The clip ends in a baseball field, where it started. The umpire takes off his mask, and it’s Jon Stewart, who yells “Play ball!”
After his monologue, Colbert took a moment to thank David Letterman. He made a joke about Biff Henderson, who was Letterman’s stage manager. Then he thanked Dave, and said he’s a first generation Letterman fan.
There was also a bit where Colbert was flipping through the channels on his new video screen, and he came up on “The Tonight Show”. Then he and Jimmy Fallon had a little conversation about each other’s guests for the night. They wrapped it up with Jimmy telling Stephen he’d see him in the late-night locker room, and, at the very end of the show, they did just that.
You may recall that Colbert also appeared on Fallon’s first show, and that when everyone else came out to pay off their $100 bets for saying Jimmy would never host “The Tonight Show”, Colbert paid his with a bucket of pennies.
And, since George Clooney didn’t have a movie to promote during his interview, they made one up. It was an action-thriller called “Decision Strike”, and they even showed three clips. (You can see them here.) Get more here.
Does Someone Have an Incriminating Photos of Taylor Swift & Calvin Harris?
Back in January, there was some Internet buzz about someone possibly having incriminating photos of Taylor Swift they were looking to sell. But Taylor wasn’t worried. She Tweeted:
PS any hackers saying they have ‘nudes’? Psssh you’d love that wouldn’t you! Have fun photoshopping cause you got NOTHING.

But the situation may have changed. Radar Online says someone does have a “steamy” picture of Taylor with her boyfriend Calvin Harris. And while they claim to have seen it, they didn’t actually describe it. The only other thing they said about it is that it’s “intimate”, and was definitely not meant to be seen by the public. Radar says the holder is looking to sell, but they declined to buy it. There’s no word yet from Taylor on this one. Get more here.
Justin Bieber Just Became the Youngest Male Artist to Have a Song Debut at #1
Justin Bieber tops the Billboard Hot 100 chart this week with “What Do You Mean?”. And believe it or not, it’s his FIRST #1 song. The closest he came prior to this was when “Boyfriend” hit #2 in 2012. Believe it or not, “What Do You Mean?” is only the 23rd song to debut at #1 in the 57-year history of the Hot 100. At 21, Justin is also the youngest male artist ever to debut at #1. He’s also the youngest artist, male or female, in more than 11 years, since a 20-year-old Fantasia did it with her “American Idol” song “I Believe” in 2004. Get more here.
Justin Bieber Says He Isn’t in a Relationship Because He Got His Heart Broken
Justin Bieber is single right now, and it’s Selena Gomez’s fault. It seems she broke him. During an Australian radio interview yesterday, he said, quote, “I haven’t been in a relationship for a while now. I’m chillin’, just hanging out, just being by myself.” When one of the hosts asked Justin why he’d even want to be in a committed relationship, he replied, quote, “I’m a relationship type of guy. I love to be in love, and I love cuddling. I love all that stuff, but I got my heartbroken, so I’m just trying to, like, let that heal up.” Justin was also asked why he had “Selena” spray-painted on the wall during the skate park scene of his “What Do You Mean?” video, and he claims it’s not even real. He said, quote, “I think that might be fake, that wasn’t me that did that.” Get more here.
There’s a Petition for President Obama to Drink His Urine on “Running Wild with Bear Grylls”
An online petition is calling for the President to drink his own urine on the show. The official White House “We The People” online petition requests Obama make good on the stunt for the sake of science. The petition says “If there’s one thing we all know about Bear Grylls’ techniques, it’s that they mostly involve drinking his own urine. And so: We ask that Obama do the right thing and drink his own urine during a taping of ‘Running Wild with Bear Grylls.’ For science. The people demand it.” They need 100,000 signatures to be taken seriously, as of now 398 people have signed it, hoping to see the President drink his own pee. Bruno Mars Might Be Doing Another Super Bowl Halftime Show
Word has it the NFL wants Bruno Mars to do the Super Bowl halftime show again this winter. He headlined the halftime show in 2014, and had the Red Hot Chili Peppers as his guests. Supposedly, he might even have more guests this time around, since he’s reportedly been asked to, quote, “curate” the entire show, which implies there’d be multiple performers. There’s no official word from Bruno or the NFL. If this happens, he wouldn’t be the only person to do it more than once. Gloria Estefan did three in the ’90s, and Justin Timberlake and Nelly have both appeared twice. Get more here.
Vanessa Williams Will Host The Miss America Pageant, 30 Years After Giving up the Crown
Thirty years after Vanessa Williams had to give up the Miss America title, due to a nude photo scandal, she’s returning to the Miss America pageant as a host. The competition begins Tuesday, the winner will be crowned Miss America on Sunday. Vanessa was the first African-American to win the title of Miss America in 1984, but resigned after Penthouse magazine published sexually explicit photographs of her taken several years earlier. Vanessa recovered from the scandal and went on to earn 4 Emmy nominations, 17 Grammy nominations, a Tony nomination, 3 Screen Actors Guild award nominations, 7 NAACP Image Awards, a Golden Globe, Grammy and an Oscar for Best Original Song for her single Colors of the Wind, from Disney’s “Pocahontas.” She starred on the TV shows Ugly Betty and Desperate Housewives.
