The View Made Fun of a Miss America Contestant Nurse Talent

The View is back with a new panel of co-hosts. Monday they were discussing the Miss America pageant, specifically Miss Colorado, Kelley Johnson. Kelly used her Talent portion of the pageant to give a monologue discussing her profession as a nurse, which she feels is her true talent. Well the ladies of The View didn’t get it, Michelle Collins said “There was a girl who wrote her own monologue and I was like ‘Turn the volume up, this is going be amazing, let’s listen’. She came out in a nurse’s uniform and basically read her emails out loud and shockingly did not win.” “Seriously?!” Joy Behar responded, appearing incredibly perplexed.  “I swear to God it was hilarious,” Collins replied.  “Why does she have a doctor’s stethoscope on?” Behar asked.

Needless to say the nursing community was not happy. The hashtag #NursesUnite started trending, nurses everywhere expressing their outrage:

Feeling the backlash, the ladies addressed the issue, but never actually apologized. They had a lot of excuses, that basically boiled down to they didn’t actually pay attention to what she was saying at all. Get more here.

Miley Cyrus and Dane Cook are Hooking Up

If this is true, we may have found the most annoying couple ever. “Us Weekly” says Miley Cyrus and Dane Cook are hooking up. They’ve been friends for a while, but apparently, they’ve taken it to the next level. Earlier this year, when Miley caught her then-boyfriend Patrick Schwarzenegger getting handsy with other women on spring break in Cabo, she reposted a message from Dane that said, quote, “Don’t you ever let someone treat you like a yellow Starburst. You are a pink Starburst.” Dane denied the rumor by saying, quote, “I’m always the last to know these things. Just let Miley know that I’ll pick her up for dinner at 8.” Lately, Miley has been linked to a woman, Victoria’s Secret model Stella Maxwell. Of course, Miley also recently said, quote, “I don’t relate to being boy or girl, and I don’t have to have my partner relate to boy or girl.” Get more here.

Comedian Stephen Rannazzisi Lied About Escaping from the World Trade Center on 9/11

Comedian Stephen Rannazzisi has admitted he’s been lying for years about escaping from the World Trade Center on 9/11. He plays Kevin on “The League”, and he’s also been in “Paul Blart: Mall Cop”, and some Buffalo Wild Wings commercials. Six years ago, Stephen was on Marc Maron’s WTF podcast, and he told a very detailed story about how he was working for Merrill Lynch on the 54th floor of the second tower at the time of the attacks. He said that when the plane hit the first tower, everyone was “jostled all over the place,” and despite the Port Authority telling everyone to remain calm, he ran out to the street to see what was going on, and that’s when the plane hit his building. He also claimed that his wife, who he was just dating at the time, worked in the South Tower as well, and that he thought she’d died, but as it turned out, she was late to work, and was still in the subway. He went on for five minutes and reiterated variations on the story over the years, but it was a lie.

He was in New York City at the time, but he was working in Midtown, and not for Merrill Lynch, which has no record of his employment, and didn’t even have offices in the World Trade Center. His wife was also not working there. She was a temp at the World Financial Center, which is nearby, but not the South Tower as he’d claimed. .

The “Times” confronted Stephen with this, and he came clean, quote, “I was not at the Trade Center on that day. I don’t know why I said this. This was inexcusable. I am truly, truly sorry.” “It was profoundly disrespectful to those who perished and those who lost loved ones. The stupidity and guilt I have felt for many years has not abated. It was an early taste of having a public persona, and I made a terrible mistake. All I can ask is for forgiveness.” Get more here.
