Prisoner Sues to Keep Kim & Kanye Out of Florida

Wayne Albright a prisoner who’s been locked up since 2000 for attempted sexual assault, thinks Kim Kardashian and Kanye West should be stopped at the Florida border, because they’re nothing but wannabe Jay Z’s and Beyonce’s. He feels pretty passionately that Florida needs protection from the 2, so much so, that he’s taking the idea to the courts. Albright says the only tolerable Kardashian is Rob, who’s “eating himself out of house and home, no doubt from the shame he feels as a result of what Kim has done to the Kardashian name.” He is seeking a temporary restraining order, telling the judge, “You have your work cut out for you … so what do you say? Make us all proud.” Get the full story here.

DirecTV Pulled Its Rob Lowe Commercials

DirecTV has pulled its Rob Lowe ad campaign because Comcast successfully challenged some of the claims the commercials made. Comcast’s complaint questioned a lot of their assertions; like, quote, “with DirecTV you get 99% signal reliability,” and “the best picture quality and sound.” The National Advertising Division looked into it, sided with Comcast, and “recommended” that DirecTV halt the campaign, and stop using Rob Lowe’s line, “Don’t be like me.  Get rid of cable and upgrade to DirecTV. However, DirecTV isn’t admitting to doing anything wrong. They claim they were always planning on ending the Rob Lowe commercials this spring, and add, quote, “We always reserve the right to bring back the Rob Lowe campaign, either in its current form or with new spots.” Rob seemed to comment on the NAD’s ruling yesterday, by Tweeting:

Miley Cyrus Is Inducting Joan Jett Into the Rock Hall

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is bringing in Miley Cyrus, of all people, to induct Joan Jett and the Blackhearts later this month. The choice has resulted in some head-scratching and outcry from rock purists. The president of the Rock Hall didn’t really explain why this is happening, but he said, quote, “It was interesting to learn that they are mutual admirers.  They’re great friends and admirers.” Meanwhile, Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters and Tommy James from the Shondells will perform as part of the group welcoming Joan into the Rock Hall. Bobby Brown Forced to Go Back on Tour

Bobby Brown is leaving his daughter Bobbi Kristina’s bedside to go back on the road overseas, but if he had things his way, he wouldn’t be. According to TMZ, he is scheduled to play three shows in Australia with Treach and Kay Gee of Naughty By Nature at the end of May, and, for obvious reasons, he doesn’t want to go. Bobby wanted to postpone again, so far, the promoters are holding him to his contractual obligation. Get the full story here.

Barry Manilow Got Married, Unofficially

Barry Manilow married his longtime partner Garry Kief.  He’s Barry’s manager and the president of Barry Manilow Productions.  They’ve been together more than 30 years. They’re not officially married though.  They had a commitment ceremony.  A source says he didn’t want to sign paperwork because he didn’t want the word getting out, quote, “Barry is paranoid that his fans would not approve of him being gay.” The wedding was a surprise to the guests, too.  Up to 50 people attended, but they were told they were just having lunch at Barry and Garry’s house in Palm Springs. Their neighbor Suzanne Somers was the “best man.”  Barry is 71, Garry is 66. Get the full story here.
