We almost lost Kevin Smith after he suffered a massive heart between comedy shows.
According to Deadline.com, Smith was shooting a new standup special, Kevin Smith Live!, at the Alex Theatre in Glendale on Sunday night. After his 6pm show, he was scheduled to shoot again at 9pm. But between shows, he noticed something was wrong.
According to a tweet Smith posted several hours ago, he had a 100% blockage of his LAD artery otherwise known as the “Widow-Maker.” The doctor told him that had he not canceled his second show, he would have died.
No word on how Smith is currently doing, but if he’s well enough to tweet, my guess is that he’s going to recover.
After the first show this evening, I had a massive heart attack. The Doctor who saved my life told me I had 100% blockage of my LAD artery (aka “the Widow-Maker”). If I hadn’t canceled show 2 to go to the hospital, I would’ve died tonight. But for now, I’m still above ground! pic.twitter.com/M5gSnW9E5h
