Lady Gaga Unleashes Mayhem: New Album Drops in March

Lady Gaga’s seventh studio album, Mayhem, is set to ignite the pop scene on March 7, 2025. The 14-track record, previously teased as “LG7,” will mark the artist’s bold return to the pop roots that catapulted her to stardom. Fans won’t have to wait long for a taste—Gaga is premiering a new single during the 2025 Grammy Awards on February 2, complete with a music video debut during a commercial break.

In a press release, Gaga described Mayhem as a deeply personal and artistic rebirth:

“It started as me facing my fear of returning to the pop music my earliest fans loved. The process felt like reassembling a shattered mirror: Even if you can’t put the pieces back together perfectly, you can create something beautiful and whole in its own new way.”

An Eclectic Production Team

The album sees Gaga pulling together an eclectic roster of talent. She serves as executive producer alongside Michael Polansky and Andrew Watt, with Watt, Cirkut, and Gesaffelstein handling individual tracks.

Chromatica’s Chaotic Heir

Speculation about the Chromatica successor has been swirling since last year. Gaga playfully referred to her 2024 remix album Harlequin as “LG6.5,” further fanning the flames. During the press tour for Joker: Folie à Deux, the multi-hyphenate artist teased that her next album would drop in early 2025.

True to her word, Gaga followed up with the release of the standalone single “Disease” and a tantalizing promotional campaign, featuring a countdown clock on her website and a towering billboard in Times Square.

Confirmed Tracks

Among the confirmed tracks on Mayhem are “Disease” and her 2024 Bruno Mars collaboration “Die With a Smile.” These tracks will bookend the album, but the remaining songs remain shrouded in mystery.

A Legacy Reforged

Gaga’s artistic journey has always been unpredictable, and Mayhem promises to be no exception. From her groundbreaking debut The Fame to the introspective Joanne and the euphoric escapism of Chromatica, she has never feared reinvention.

If her latest single and teaser campaign are any indication, Mayhem will be both a celebration of her pop lineage and a daring leap into uncharted creative waters.
