A Guy Quit His Job to Train Full Time for a Selfie Record

You’ve gotta respect anyone who’s willing to throw caution to the wind and follow their dream, unless their dream is this stupid. There’s a 24-year-old guy in India named Bhanu Prakash Racha, who recently quit his job as a research assistant at a hospital, so he can train full time to break the world record for most selfies taken in an hour. Arizona Cardinals cornerback Patrick Peterson currently holds the record. He took 1,449 selfies in an hour back in January. Bhanu claims his personal best is 1,700, and he’s aiming for 1,800. That would be 30 per minute, or one every two seconds. He says he was riding the bus home from work back in May when he heard a group of kids talking about how Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson had set a world record by taking 105 selfies in three minutes. And that inspired him, because he always thought taking selfies was just for girls. He says he’s been doing a lot of hand and wrist exercises, so he’ll be able to take non-stop pictures for an hour straight. He’ll try to do it at a shopping mall in India this Friday, and says his family is supporting him 100%. No word on whether or not they’re also supporting him financially now. Get more here.

Man Accidentally Texts a Narcotics Captain Asking for Drugs

William Lamberson texted the wrong number, and it cost him his freedom. William’s texts about wanting to buy drugs actually went to the Martin County Sheriff’s Office narcotics captain. He thought he was texting a guy he met at the 7-Eleven, who had told William he could get him some weed. The captain texted back, “what’s up,” to which Lamberson allegedly responded: “Not much dude wanna smoke so bad u have any green.”In a series of texts, the captain asks Lamberson if he has any connections to get cocaine. “I actually do man. Lol,” Lamberson allegedly responded. The two continue texting, and the captain asks for a specific amount of cocaine. The two were supposed to meet on Sept. 1, but Lamberson was instead met by narcotics detectives who arrested him, according to the department. Get more here.
