A Guy Is Busted For Arson Because He Wore His Slippers
When you put on your cozy slippers to curl up by the fire, generally you do it in front of a fireplace, and not a building you just intentionally torched. The cops in Fort Pierce, Florida got a call on Thursday about a fire at a church, and there were signs that it was arson. Fortunately, the church had security cameras, so the cops could see what happened. And they got a good look at the guy’s face as he set the place on fire, but they didn’t recognize him. They could tell he was wearing slippers, though, and that was enough to go on. They figured that meant he lived close, so they went around the area showing the surveillance shots to people . . . and one of them recognized him and pointed the cops to his apartment. He turned out to be a 38-year-old named Tyquaris Ward, and he was arrested for arson. The cops caught him so quickly he was still in the same clothes, and he still smelled like smoke. But they’re not sure why he set fire to the church. Get more here.
