Teen Steals Street Sweeper, Leads Cops on 50 MPH Chase

Police say a 16-year-old was drunk when he stole a street sweeper, led officers on a short chase and then crashed into a tree, utility pole and parked car. The chase and crash happened just after 2 a.m. Friday. Police say the teen ran away from a group home. An officer spotted the street sweeper swerving on a city street and tried to pull it over, but the driver would not stop. The chase reached speeds of nearly 50 mph. The teen suffered minor injuries. He’s charged with litany of offenses, including operating while intoxicated, driving a motor vehicle without the owner’s consent and eluding police. Get the full story here.

And that was a very un-clever idea, since he had a mobile meth lab in his backseat. He was hit with several drug charges, but at least it looks like they gave him a pass on littering.
