Woman Jailed Over VHS Tape She Rented in 2005

Kayla Michelle Finley, of South Carolina had a VHS copy of ‘Monster-In-Law’ sitting in her home for a decade. She rented the Jennifer Lopez movie from Dalton Videos, now out of business. Finley, 27, was at a police station on another matter when officers unearthed an arrest warrant for her. The stores owner had even contacted the police in a bid to get her to return it. She was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of failure to return the video and spent a night in jail because her hearing could not be held until the following day. Finley said: ‘I’m no criminal, but Pickens County Sheriff’s office sure made me feel like I was.’ Get the full story here.

Man Tried to Blow Up His Foreclosed Home with Bowling Ball Bomb

Tyler Butler, 21, of Florida, was arrested on charges of arson and using an explosive device. It started Sunday night when several people called 911 and reported a house fire. A person also reported that the foreclosed home’s past owner, Butler, was inside. Deputies arrived and detained Butler after he left the burning home. As firefighters extinguished the flames, they noticed a bowling ball with what appeared to be a wick attached, according to the report. The sheriff’s office bomb squad removed the ball. Witnesses told deputies that before the fire, Butler said, “he wasn’t gonna leave the house he [used] to live in, that he would burn it down.” Butler told deputies he set things on fire in the home using a cigarette lighter, and that he poured gun powder in a bowling ball and used a rope as a fuse, deputies said.
