A Woman Got So Frustrated With a Self-Checkout That She Hit the Manager With a VCR

56-year-old Cheryl Elkinton of Madison, Wisconsin was at a grocery store last week and tried to use the self-checkout.  But, as we all know, self-checkouts never work smoothly or correctly, never ever. And Cheryl got so frustrated that she started screaming at some employees who tried to help her.  Then when a manager came over, Cheryl picked up a VCR and smacked him in the face with it. The police tracked her down trying to get away on a bus and arrested her for disorderly conduct. The only mystery left is where the VCR came from, the police think she may have brought it with her to the store, but no one’s quite sure why you’d need a VCR to go grocery shopping. Women Leave Kids Behind after Being Caught Shoplifting

Barker, 31, and Grodetz, 25, were shopping Sunday with three children, a 3-year-old and two 11-year-old girls, according to the Osceola. FL County Sheriff’s Office. The two women put $476 worth of food and other products in a shopping cart and began to walk out of the store without paying, deputies said. When a store employee confronted them, they quickly fled the store with the 3-year-old, but not the two older girls. “The kids were right there with them,” said sheriff’s spokeswoman Twis Lizasuain. “They just walked out and said they would be back, but never returned.”The girls had contact numbers for the two women. One of the women answered when deputies called and said she would come to get the kids, but after waiting for a few hours she never came back, deputies said. Deputies then called the Department of Children and Family Services, which took custody of the children. They are charged with grand theft, child neglect and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
