Marquis de Favras was hanged in the late 18th century, but his pettiness lives on in infamy.
Favras, a French aristocrat, was hanged after the French revolution and considered a martyr for French royalty.
Before he was hanged, he read his death sentence and was asked for any final words. This is what he had to say:
