“Fun Tonight” is one of the songs from Lady Gaga’s new album, Chromatica, that she says “means a lot to her.”
The song details a love that is fading and the “little monsters,” as Gaga’s fanbase is called, have determined the song is about Gaga’s ex-fiancé Christian Carino.
“Chris didn’t treat Gaga very well toward the end of their [two-year] relationship,” a source told Us Weekly. “He was jealous, he was trying to find her all the time and texted her a lot. Her friends didn’t like him either.”
The lyrics of “Fun Tonight” suggest that Gaga felt Carino was jealous and she pondered why she stayed in the relationship as she sings; “if I scream, you walk away / When I’m sad, you just wanna play / I’ve had enough, why do I stay?”
