Director John Singleton Dead at 51

 Director John Singleton passed away yesterday.  He’d suffered a massive stroke two weeks ago and was reportedly in a coma. His family made the difficult decision to pull him off life support. He was 51.

His death HAS been confirmed, but up until now there have been conflicting reports on the severity of his condition from various family members, who apparently are feuding behind the scenes.

He was most famous for “Boyz N the Hood”, which starred Cuba Gooding Jr.Ice Cube, and Morris Chestnut. At 24, he was the youngest person as well as the first black man to be nominated for the Best Director Oscar.

He also directed “Poetic Justice”“Higher Learning”“Rosewood”“Baby Boy”“2 Fast 2 Furious”, and the 2000 Samuel L. Jackson version of “Shaft”.
