Jon And Chantel

Are the Characters of These Movies the Real Villains?

Some main characters in movies are so beloved, that it’s easy to overlook how FLAWED, or maybe EVIL, they are.  Here’s a list of movies where a major character is the worst:

1.  “Dumb and Dumber”:  Lloyd Christmas (Jim Carrey).  He conned a blind kid into buying a dead bird, and his thoughtlessness usually ends in others getting hurt.

2.  “Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory”:  Grandpa Joe.  He stayed in bed for 20 years, then has the strength to jump out and dance.  Then at the factory, he convinces Charlie to break Wonka’s rules, which endangers his life.

3.  “You’ve Got Mail”:  Joe Fox (Tom Hanks).  He’s a ruthless superstore magnate who ultimately destroys the local business owner’s family book shop.

4.  “Mrs. Doubtfire”:  Daniel Hillard (Robin Williams).  He violates a court order, tricks his ex-wife into letting him back into the house, and manipulates her new boyfriend.

5.  “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off”:  Ferris Bueller (Matthew Broderick).  He’s manipulative, deceitful, and irresponsible.

6.  “Mean Girls”:  Cady Heron (Lindsay Lohan).  She becomes a self-absorbed mean girl when trying to get revenge on Regina George.

7.  “Meet the Parents”:  Pam Byrnes (Teri Polo).  She sets up Greg (Ben Stiller) for failure by putting him in awkward situations, like telling everyone how he hates cats, and letting him sleep in to appear lazy.
