Here’s the Most Popular Christmas Candy in Every State

Christmas is NOTHING without candy.  And I mean that with all due respect to Jesus.  Happy Birthday, bro.

According to a new study, we’ll spend a total of $1.93 BILLION on Christmas candy this year.  And people in every state will spend their share differently.  The study found the most popular Christmas candy in every state, and here are the results . . .

1.  Red and green M&M’s are the top candy in eight states.  Christmas Pez dispensers and candy also took eight states.

2.  The most traditional Christmas candies finished close behind.  Candy canes won seven states, and peppermint bark won four states.

3.  “Reindeer corn,” which is the candy corn industry’s way of staying relevant for an extra month, somehow won in Alabama, Michigan, and Utah.

4.  And bravo to North Dakota.  They’re the only state that decided the best way to celebrate Christmas is to bite the heads off of chocolate Santas.

The #1 Way We Stay On Budget for the Holidays . . . Is by Cashing in Spare Change?

A new survey found 77% of us think we’ll go over-budget on our holiday spending this year.  And it makes sense when you find out what our number one strategy for staying on-budget is . . .

People were asked how they plan to stay under budget this year . . . and the #1 answer was by cashing in their SPARE CHANGE.  (???)

39% of people said they’ll cash in their change to help pay for the holidays.  35% will cut back on entertainment expenses, like movies and concerts.  And 33% will eat out at restaurants a little less.  Most people planned to do more than one thing to save money.

Presents are the top holiday expense for most people.  And 74% of us feel obligated to buy gifts for people we don’t really want to.

The top recipients of obligatory gifts are extended family, including aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Other than presents, our five biggest holiday expenses are entertaining family and friends . . . dining out . . . traveling . . . buying decorations . . . and buying new clothes to wear to parties.

1.  Disney princesses, like Moana and Belle.

2.  Cleveland Cavaliers players, like LeBron, Kyrie, and Kevin.  And those names are popular even though the Cavs lost in the NBA Finals to the Golden State Warriors AND Kyrie Irving left the team.

3.  Rappers, like Chance after Chance the Rapper and Kendrick after Kendrick Lamar.

4.  Nature terms, with names like Willow and Storm for girls and Ember and Cloud for boys.

5.  Fancy food ingredients, like Ginger, Saffron, and Miso.

If you’re into more traditional names, the most popular overall were Sophia for girls for the eighth year in a row . . . and Jackson for boys for the fifth year in a row.
