Not everyone loved Disney’s “Lion King” remake. The more realistic-looking CGI animals just lacked the warmth and expressiveness of the cartoon versions from the original.
But that isn’t stopping Disney from heading back to Pride Rock . . . this time for a PREQUEL. It’ll be about the younger versions of brothers Mufasa and Scar.
Director Barry Jenkins says, quote, “Kings aren’t just born, they aren’t just made. They have to become who they are through a series of events that a lot of people can relate to.”
Sounds like it’s an “origin story” about how Mufasa became king . . . and Scar became super evil and jealous.
