Dr. Evan Antin is an exotic animal veterinarian in conejo valley, california, an avid wildlife conservationist, a dedicated pet parent…. oh, and he’s hot af
“I was always going to the creek in my backyard and looking for insects and turtles and reptiles,” he says. “I’d take home what I found — a box turtle or water snake — and keep it as a pet for a week or two.”
In an interview with People.com,
He also takes animal conservation very seriously, traveling all over to save critters around the globe. On World Rhino Day, he went to Africa to shave rhino horns down to protect them from poachers. Because he might actually be a saint among men.
PLEASE READ CAPTION IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS Trimming #Rhino horns may be controversial but I can confidently say that a Rhino without it’s horns is better than a dead Rhino and we should be thankful for @rhino911npo for helping to protect one of #Africa ‘s most important mammals. And it’s not painful at all, just like trimming your fingernails ____________________________________________________ Rhino’s horns are indeed one of their adaptations for fending predators, competing for mates, protecting young, digging, and breaking branches for food but that’s not their only means of survival and they survive without them. Remember, Rhinos other adaptations for survival include their massive size, heavily armored bodies, incredibly strength, and impressive speed for their size (>30 mph (almost 50 km/hr), much faster than people)! ____________________________________________________ And FYI their horns are simply made of keratin. The same organic material as hair, fingernails, bird beaks, turtle/tortoise shells and more importantly they serve NO, ABSOLUTELY ZERO, medical purposes. Unfortunately, certain Asian cultures believe that consuming Rhino horns can improve your libido and even cure diseases like cancer…there is NO scientific evidence of this because it is NOT TRUE. ____________________________________________________ Regardless, many ignorant people are willing to pay $30,000/pound for Rhino horn and that black market drives poachers to slaughter Africa’s Rhinos just for their useless keratin. Please help amazing conservation organizations like @rhino911npo that work to stop poaching and save Rhinos lives (link to donate in bio). ____________________________________________________ I’ll be matching donations personally over this weekend because I’m passionate about saving this species and I know our money is going straight to the Rhinos in need. Thank you for viewing, thank you for caring, and a big thank you for donating if you can Much love ❤️. Btw, this Rhino was trimmed at @mankwereserve in #SouthAfrica .
He advocates spaying/neutering your pets (even if it’s super gross to look at)
And he remains beautiful through it all
EVEN HIS FEET ARE GOOD. HE HAS PERFECTLY SHOE-SHAPED FEET. I’LL BET HE CAN FIND A PAIR OF BOOTS SO EASY
These are his own babies. Willyballz is the best.
