PARLEYS CANYON, Utah — I-80 in Parleys Canyon will be closed in both directions from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday due to allow crews to battle a wildfire there.
“We will be closing highway 80 all the way from Foothill Drive and 215 up to Parleys Summit,” said Kait Webb, a PIO for the Utah Division of Forestry, Fire and Lands. “That’s going to start at 9 a.m. and it’s going to last until 9 p.m.”
Webb said the closure is needed because firefighters need access and helicopters are scooping water from Mountain Dell Reservoir, and crossing the freeway.
Webb said the fire is human-caused but it is still under investigation.
