Seeing Eye Dog Guides Mom Into His Favorite Pet Store

He Sneakily Guides Mom To His Favorite Store for Treats

Meet Danielle Skyora – she received her guide dog, Thai, four years ago. Except, Thai has his own idea of what “guiding” mom means.

Skyora studies at Delaware Valley University in Pennsylvania, and on the weekends Thai and her head back to her home in New Jersey. When she does go home, Skyora and her sister Michele, go to the mall.

Thai likes going to the mall too…for a very nefarious reason!

Skyora’s dad was with her during one of these trips to the mall when he witnessed something peculiar. There is a pet supply store called, Cool Dog Gear, that Thai really liked going to.

Well, Michele wanted to witness Thai guiding her sister into this store. Michele made sure she had her phone out the next time they went to the mall. “The first time my sister ever went to this mall, she was with my dad and Thai just veered right into the store without her knowing. The second time we went back there, I wanted to witness for myself, so we walked in the direction of the pet store and of course he walked right in there again.”

Danielle wasn’t surprised when her family told her what Thai had been up to. Thai has been described by family members as a “foodie”. Danielle relayed a story of how Thai liked going to Starbucks when they are at school because he likes the smell of coffee – and because there’s always a Pupuccino with Thai’s name on it (presumably spelled correctly!).

“Thai and Danielle have a relationship only a person with a service dog could ever understand. He is her eyes. He goes with her absolutely everywhere”, Michelle said. “Even when Thai isn’t working and we are home, if she leaves the room he will get up and follow her everywhere”.

God bless service dogs!
