I scream…You scream…We all scream for….Bacon?!? What makes a meal taste even better? Well, that would be bacon! What makes ice cream even more delicious? If you’re thinking hot fudge then you’re wrong…yes, bacon is the correct answer!
If you really want to wow your summer guests, or just enjoy a treat while watching TV, you need to learn how to make bacon weave ice cream sandwiches.
The recipe is really simple and only takes 45 minutes of your time. Plus, the reward is so much more enjoyable than just eating right from the container…not that I’ve ever done that before.
Make a weave of bacon using cut up strips and cooking in the oven, rather than on the stove (Pro Tip: This is the BEST and EASIEST way to cook bacon. Place bacon on a foil-lined pan and place in a cold oven. Then start your oven to 400 degrees. By the time the oven reaches 400 degrees the bacon should be cooked – keep in longer for crispier bacon. The link to the recipe says to preheat the oven. Don’t!). Pat your bacon dry after cooking and then start building your sandwich. Layer the bacon weave, using one as the base, top with ice cream, add more bacon weave, more ice cream, then another bacon weave. Voila!
