The Weeknd Donates $500K To BLM Efforts

As thousands of people march in the streets in protest to police brutality many protesters are being arrested with little to no money to make bail.

The Weeknd has dug deep in his pockets to donate $500,000 to various charities in support of Black Lives Matter.

“Keep supporting our brothers and sisters out there risking everything to push for actual change for our black lives,” The Weeknd posted to Instagram. “Urging everyone with big pockets to give and give big and if you have less please give what you can even if it’s a small amount. #blacklivesmatter.”

The $500,000 was divided between Black Lives Matter Global Network in the amount of $200,000, $200,000 to Colin Kaepernick’s Know Your Rights campaign, and $100,000 to the National Bail Out. The Weeknd’s frequent collaborator Drake gave $100,000 to the National Bail Out.
