USS Hartford Surfaces In Arctic Ocean During Training Drill
The USS Hartford is part of two submarines taking place in the drill which happens biennially (or every other year). The other submarine involved is the British Royal Navy’s Trafalgar-class submarine HMS Trenchant. The ice was apparently 16-inches thick! The sub breaks through the ice like a hot knife cutting butter! Watch:
