Chappell Roan Pushes Back on Billboard Over Management Split Report: ‘Y’all Suck’
Breakout artist Chappell Roan isn’t letting rumors about her management split slide. After Billboard reported that Roan parted ways with her manager Nick Bobetsky and the team at State Of the Art, Roan herself responded directly in the comments, stating, “Y’all suck for this.”
Grammy Nominee and Management Split
According to Billboard, Roan’s departure from her management came shortly after receiving her first Grammy nominations, with nods in all of the Big Four categories. The report highlighted her absence from State Of the Art‘s Instagram post congratulating their clients on Grammy nods, conspicuously omitting Roan from their list of nominees.
Though she had been represented by Bobetsky and his team since 2018, industry insiders had speculated about Roan’s search for new management for weeks. Nathan Hubbard, former Ticketmaster CEO, hinted at this shift on the Every Single Album podcast, describing an intense behind-the-scenes scramble at last month’s Austin City Limits Festival as top managers vied for her attention. “It was like the Hunger Games,” Hubbard noted. “All these managers flew in to see her, but she didn’t meet with anyone.”

Roan Remains One of the Industry’s Most Sought-After Artists
Hits Daily Double had also reported that Roan formally dismissed Bobetsky and was actively searching for a replacement, making her one of the most sought-after talents in the industry. The split, while publicized, hasn’t slowed down her creative momentum.
Focus on New Music and Upcoming Album
Despite the shake-up, Roan is keeping her focus on the music. Producer Dan Nigro recently confirmed to The New York Times that Roan has five completed songs ready for her next album. She even premiered her new single, “The Giver,” on Saturday Night Live on November 2.
Roan’s blunt response to Billboard might not quell the rumors, but it sends a clear message: she’s unafraid to defend her story on her own terms.
