Delays and Anticipation: For All the Dogs

Originally scheduled for a September 22 release, For All the Dogs was postponed. This delay was attributed to Drake’s “It’s All a Blur Tour” with fellow artist 21 Savage. Drake expressed his commitment to his fans, stating, “I owe you all these memories we are building and anywhere we have missed to date we will be spinning back for sure.” Interestingly, had the album been released as initially planned, it would have coincided with the launch of Doja Cat’s latest album, Scarlet.

The announcement of For All the Dogs was made in June, coinciding with the launch of Drake’s poetry book, Titles Ruin Everything. He teased fans with a statement, “I made an album to go with the book. They say they miss the old Drake girl don’t tempt me. FOR ALL THE DOGS.”

Drake’s Time-Stamped Legacy

“8AM in Charlotte” is the newest addition to Drake’s signature time-and-location series of songs. This unique series began in 2010 with “9AM in Dallas” and has since expanded to include tracks like “5am in Toronto,” “6PM in New York,” “4pm in Calabasas,” and “7am on Bridle Path.” Another song, “Do Not Disturb” from his More Life album, is considered an honorary member of this series, featuring the line, “7 a.m. in Germany, can’t believe that they heard of me.”
