Dua Lipa Unveils “Illusion” from Upcoming Album Radical Optimism
Dua Lipa just introduced her latest single, “Illusion,” from her eagerly awaited third album, Radical Optimism. The music video, directed by Tanu Muino, was shot at the visually striking Piscina Municipal de Montjuïc in Barcelona. The video features Lipa performing in a luxurious pool setting, accompanied by an ensemble of dancers, high divers, and synchronized swimmers. Watch below.
Collaborative Creation
“Illusion” was penned by Lipa alongside Caroline Ailin, Danny L Harle, Tobias Jesso Jr., and Kevin Parker, all of whom have contributed to the album. The track was co-produced by Harle and Parker. Lipa describes the song as a playful take on self-aware deception, highlighting its thematic focus on staying in a tricky situation for the thrill of it.
She explains, “It’s about knowing what you’re getting yourself into, but staying for the hell of it. The joke’s on them, it’s the fun of playing someone at their own game because ultimately you won’t fall for an illusion.”
Album Release Details
“Illusion” follows earlier singles “Houdini” and “Training Season” from Radical Optimism, which also came with their own unique visuals.
