Bobbi Kristina Brown is “Awake,” “No Longer on Life Support”
Bobbi Kristina, 22, has been in a medically induced coma for the past two and a half months, since she was discovered unresponsive in a bath tub on Jan. 31. But now it seems like things are looking up for the daughter of Bobby Brown and the late Whitney Houston, after her dad and aunt sent out messages to fans over the weekend, saying that her condition is starting to improve. Bobby Brown, gave the first hint that his daughter was recovering on Saturday, when he made an announcement on stage at a Frankie Beverly concert. “I can say today Bobbi is awake. She’s watching me.” And confirming her brother’s happy announcement, Tina Brown took to Facebook on Sunday, to expand on the positive message. “So many messages, sorry can’t answer them all right now but I will get to them later..” Tina wrote. “Just allow me this time with my family,,yes,she woke up and is no longer on life support!!!!!:):)God is good!!thanks for your prayers,,still a process,but she is going to be ok:):):):).” Get the full story here.
The Trailer for Batman v Superman Is Here
Information about Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice has been slow coming over the past year, and we’re still a long way from its May 2016 release. But the first trailer for the Zack Snyder–directed movie leaked on Thursday, via what seems to be a fan’s handheld recording of a version with Portuguese subtitle. Warner Bros has since released the high-def version, because, why not? It’s out there, you may as well see it the way it was meant to be seen. Then again the whole thing may have been careful calculated by studio execs, as an attempt to cash in on the hype that other epic trailer sparked when it hit the net the day before. Eight Rock Hall Induction Highlights
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony went down Saturday night. The televised version won’t air on HBO until May 30th . . . but here are eight highlights: one of the more interesting quotes came from Yoko Ono, who called Ringo Starr the, quote, “most influential” member of The Beatles in a backstage interview. And no, she didn’t mean the most influential surviving Beatle. She said, quote, “No one is probably going to believe it, but he was the most influential Beatle.” She didn’t elaborate directly, but she added that when she came onto the scene, Ringo was the most popular Beatle. As we were warned beforehand, Miley Cyrus was there to induct Joan Jett. She gave a speech, which a lot of people actually liked, but then in true Miley fashion, she ended up topless, and wearing only pasties with “Js” on them, for “Joan Jett.” She was also sporting some serious armpit hair. Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters performed with Joan, so it was kind of like he was returning the favor for her joining him for a “Nirvana” performance last year. She did “Bad Reputation”, the Runaways’ classic “Cherry Bomb”, and her cover of “Crimson and Clover”, which she did alongside Miley, Dave, and the original singer, Tommy James of the Shondells. Drew Carey Just Married The Entire ‘Price Is Right’ Audience In Massive Wedding
In possibly one of the most epic mass weddings ever, host Drew Carey married the entire audience of “The Price Is Right” for a special episode that aired Friday. The event, which was filmed earlier this year, featured dozens of real-life longtime couples. Carey told People magazine that he’d gotten legally officiated in order to conduct the ceremony. “In the big wheel of love, may you always spin a dollar,” Carey told the audience, before pronouncing the couples “all married.” What better place to tie the knot than on TV at the Bob Barker Studios? Michael Bublé Shared a Photo with a Woman in Short-Shorts, But He Says He Didn’t Mean to “Body Shame” Her
Last week, Michael Bublé shared a photo his wife took of him, with a woman in the background wearing shorts that didn’t fully cover her voluptuous backside. He posted it on Instagram with the caption, “There was something about this photo that seemed worthy of Instagram. #MyHumps #BabyGotBack #HungryShorts #OnlyInMiami #PicOfTheDay #BeautifulBum.” But a lot of people didn’t think it was funny, and accused him of “body-shaming” the woman, who obviously didn’t realize she was being photographed. So he apologized. Quote, “I realize that a photo that was meant to be complimentary and lighthearted has turned into a questionable issue. “For the record, it hurts me deeply that anyone would think that I’d disrespect women or be insulting to any human being. Oprah’s OWN Claims Florida Man Perpetrated Impersonation Scheme
The Oprah Winfrey Network on Friday filed suit against a Florida man named Justin Jackson, claiming he pretended to be Oprah Winfrey’s nephew and impersonated OWN employees to get jobs and gifts. Co-plaintiffs in the complaint filed in Florida federal court are Reggie Love, a former college basketball player and personal aide to President Barack Obama, and Scott Garner, the channel’s Executive VP of Scheduling and Acquisitions. Jackson impersonated Garner in 2013 to look at properties in Florida, he sent letters on OWN letterhead and designed them to look like they were from Winfrey to try to get jobs with Perry Ellis and the Atlantic Hotel. Jackson tried to get items from Converse, Carters clothing, David Yurman, Pandora, Tacori and Tory Burch and access to singer Trey Songz by claiming association with Winfrey and OWN. In 2007 he posed as Madonna’s manager to obtain $2.4 million in Chopard jewelry for a fake photo shoot, then was convicted of grand theft for selling the jewelry. In 2010, he impersonated Love to get Juicy Couture clothing and handbags and Cheesecake Factory gift certificates and was arrested for fraud and impersonating a public officer. The plaintiffs say he skipped bail and has an arrest warrant in Georgia. A spokesperson for OWN says, “We seek the court’s help to put a stop to these fraudulent activities.” Get the full story here.
