Macklemore Says He Relapsed on Drugs, and Blames Fame

We haven’t heard much from Macklemore recently, and apparently, that’s because he’s been busy relapsing on marijuana and pills. He tells “Complex” magazine, quote, “The pressure and the fame… everything.  All the clichés, man… like not being able to walk around, having no privacy, and from this TV appearance to this TV appearance… The criticism, and the lack of connection, and the lack of meetings, all of that put into one pie was just… I just wanted to escape. I held it together for a while. But, eventually, I stopped going to my 12-step meetings. I was burnt out. I was super-stressed.  We weren’t sleeping, doing a show every day, zigzagging all over the country.” But then he found out that his fiancée was pregnant, and he got serious about pulling himself together.  He says, quote, “I’ve been trying to grow up this year… I was like, ‘I need to grow up right now.'” He says he and Ryan Lewis are back at writing new music, now that his work ethic has turned from “off-to-on.”  He adds, quote, “Songs write themselves.” Get more here.

Tom Brady’s Four-Game Suspension Has Been Upheld

The NFL announced yesterday that they’re upholding Tom Brady’s four-game suspensionover the “Deflategate” scandal. That means his season will start with a night game on Sunday, October 18th, against the Colts in Indianapolis.  Ironically, the last time these two teams played was in the AFC Championshi, the game that spawned Deflategate. In announcing the decision, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said that Brady, quote, “engaged in conduct detrimental to the integrity of, and public confidence in, the game of professional football.” And here’s something we hadn’t heard before:  Goodell said Brady destroyed his cell phone, even though he knew investigators wanted to look at it. He did it on March 6th, the day he was supposed to meet with investigators, and didn’t tell them it had been destroyed until June 18th, almost four months after they’d first told him they wanted it. Brady’s excuse is that he got a new phone, and he always destroys the previous phone and its SIM card when he does. Jimmy Kimmel Breaks Down Over Cecil the Lion

People around the world have been outraged at the news that a 55-year-old American dentist Walter Palmer hunted, maimed and, ultimately, killed a lion during a safari holiday in Zimbabwe. It also emerged that Palmer had hunted numerous big-game animals in the past. But the lion that he killed most recently turned out to be Cecil, a star attraction at Hwange National Park, who was being studied and tracked by Oxford University. Kimmel used his late-night show to condemn the dentist. The comedian was so upset, he even teared up as he called on people to make donations to the Wildlife Conservation Research Unit at Oxford, saying he wanted to turn the story into a “positive” one. Cara Delevingne Handles a Cringe-worthy Interview Like a Champ

Cara Delevingne has been promoting Paper Towns for a few weeks now, which includes innumerable interviews with morning talk show hosts.
In a disastrously awkward interview with Good Day Sacramento, the host repeatedly calls her “Clara,” then asked her if  she “bothered to read Paper Towns” before starring in the adaptation. The co-host then asks her if “being so busy makes it easier to focus” and of course, Cara looks perplexed and says, “No. I don’t know where that comes from.” Then another anchor jumps in and asks why she isn’t thrilled to be talking to them, asking “are you just exhausted?” the interview comes to a early conclusion after the hosts tell her to go “take a nap.” Get more here.
