House after the fire in hdr

A Woman Accidentally Sets Her House on Fire When She Tries to Burn Her Husband’s Clothes

Firefighters in Port St. Lucie, Florida got a call a few weeks ago about a house on fire, and when they got there, one of the bedrooms was up in flames.  They quickly put it out, and then started investigating how it started. The answer?  Two grown adults acting dumber than little children. 39-year-old Maibritt Canterbury and her 47-year-old husband live in the house, and apparently, they’d been in a massive argument that week. So they kept taking each other’s stuff into the backyard, and setting it on fire. But eventually, Maibritt skipped that last step, and just lit up her husband’s clothes in his closet, which is what caused the house fire. She was arrested for arson. Get the full story here.

Utah Man Punches Officer and Attempts to Run Away

A West Valley police officer was injured Saturday after a man allegedly punched him in the face and then ran away. Officers received a call about a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of Jackling Elementary School at about 7 p.m. When officers arrived, they found a man smoking a pipe, said West Valley Police Lt. Dalan Taylor. The man, identified as Eric Dustin Johnson, complied with a request to step out of the vehicle, but then punched the officer in the face and fled, Taylor said. A second officer arrived as Johnson began fleeing. As the two officers pursued him across the school field on foot, the already-injured officer sustained another injury to his knee. After running across the school field, Johnson allegedly jumped over a fence and hid in a shed. Officers were unable to remove him so they called for a police K9, which arrived and bit the man, the lieutenant said. Johnson was then arrested. The injured officer was taken to a local medical facility with minor injuries. Get the full story here.
