Last night, Avril Lavigne released her first single since the 2013 release of her self-titled album. Head Above Water was inspired by her well-known struggle with Lyme Disease.
In an interview with People, the Complicated singer said, “One night, I thought I was dying, and I had accepted that I was going to die. My mom laid with me in bed and held me. I felt like I was drowning…I had no idea a bug bite could do this…I was bedridden for five months”
