Recently, Lin-Manuel Miranda pitched an Encanto attraction to Disney’s CEO, Bob Chapek. Lin said,

“Well, I took my kids to Disneyland for the first time pre-pandemic a few years ago. And we sat through The Little Mermaid thing five times in a row.” He continued, “That’s where my brain goes. It’s like, I want to go in and out of this casita and see those characters and see the house respond because that’s something Disney can do that no one else can do. But yeah, in terms of the world of the characters, it’s really early days on that. I don’t know what that will be.” He added,

“I know there’s a world in which this casita lives in a theme park and we get to actually walk through it in real life.”

ENCANTO is a Walt Disney Animation Studio movie where we meet The Madrigals. The Madrigals are an extraordinary family who live hidden in the mountains of Colombia. Their house is a magical place that they call the Encanto. The magic of the Encanto has given every child in the family with a special gift. Everyone but the protagonist, Mirabel, voiced by Stephanie Beatriz also known for Brooklyn Nine Nine and In The Heights. When the Encanto starts to show cracks of weakness it is up to Mirabel navigate her relationships with her family to bring the magic back to the Encanto.  ENCANTO also features music write by Lin-Manuel Miranda best known for the musical Hamilton.  Some of the music have also made it to the top of the Billboard charts, which hasn’t been done with a disney movie since The Lion King with music by Elton John!
