Starbucks Allows Black Lives Matter Attire After Social Media Backlash

Starbucks is making a change after receiving a lot of backlash.

Earlier this week Starbucks employees received an email stating they were not permitted to wear clothing or accessories supporting Black Lives Matter. They instructed employees to refer to the company’s accessories policy that forbids accessories that, advocated political, religious, or personal issues. Many employees noted that Starbucks encourages employees to wear pro-LGBTQ+ pins especially during Pride Month which is in June.

As of today, Starbucks announced on Twitter stating “Black Lives Matter. We continue to listen to our partners and communities and their desire to stand for justice together. The Starbucks Black Partner Network co-designed t-shirts with this graphic that will soon be sent to 250,000+ store partners.”
