Billie Eilish is using her platform as a resource for those who continually use the phrase “All Lives Matter.”
“IF I HEAR ONE MORE WHITE PERSON SAY ‘aLL liVeS maTtEr’ ONE MORE F__ING TIME IM GONNA LOSE MY F___ING MIND,” wrote Eilish. She then said she would explain why the phrase was harmful as if she were talking to a child.
“If your friend gets a cut on their arm are you gonna wait to give all your friends a bandaid first because all arms matter? NO, you’re gonna help your friend because THEY are in PAIN because THEY are in need because THEY ARE BLEEDING!”
Billie used another analogy to prove her point asking if your house was on fire would you send the fire department to all the other houses on the block because all houses matter to which she said, “NO! BECAUSE THEY DON’T F___ING NEED IT.” She also defined white privilege and asked hard questions about black people being killed for the color of their skin and white people getting more opportunities.
