Olivia Rodrigo and Noah Kahan Swap Songs for Record Store Day

In a unique musical exchange, Noah Kahan and Olivia Rodrigo will participate in this year’s Record Store Day with a special vinyl release. They’re bringing fans a creative twist by covering each other’s hits — Kahan’s “Stick Season” and Rodrigo’s “Lacy” — both performed in the BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge. Listen to both live versions of the cover songs below.

This collaboration marks a memorable moment from their respective appearances on the show. The special edition vinyl will split the covers across two sides: Rodrigo’s take on “Stick Season” will grace Side A, showcasing her debut in the Live Lounge. Flip to Side B, and you’ll hear Kahan’s interpretation of “Lacy,” a track from Rodrigo’s album Guts that has won over fans for its emotional depth.

Set to hit the shelves on April 20, the vinyl will feature a 7-inch colored disc, enclosed in a cover highlighted by a photo of the duo — Kahan in white overalls, sharing a warm embrace with Rodrigo.

On Tour and On the Charts

The release coincides with a busy year for both artists. Rodrigo is embarking on her first arena tour, starting at Acrisure Arena in Palm Springs, California, today. And the pop-sensation will perform in Salt Lake City on July 31st at the Delta Center. Kahan isn’t staying put either; he’s off to captivate audiences in Copenhagen.

Their recent work has not only brought them together for Record Store Day but also seen significant success individually. Rodrigo’s Guts landed at the top of the Billboard 200 upon its release last September. Meanwhile, Kahan’s Stick Season has been climbing the charts, hitting a new peak at No. 3 this week, an impressive feat for an album originally released in 2022.
