Dwayne Johnson’s ‘Black Adam’ Journey Cut Short by Leadership Changes
In a surprising turn of events, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s tenure as Black Adam in the DC Extended Universe was cut short. The reason? A shakeup in the series’ leadership, with James Gunn stepping in to spearhead a revamp.
Johnson delved into the issue during a heart-to-heart with his Hollywood confidant, Kevin Hart, on the show Hart to Heart. Watch the clip below:
“Black Adam found itself in the whirlwind of a leadership transition. As we were in the throes of creating, developing, and filming Black Adam, we faced a setback due to COVID and the subsequent shutdowns. The leadership changes were numerous,” Johnson explained.
He continued, “When you’re dealing with a company of such scale and influence, particularly a publicly traded one, leadership changes bring in individuals who may make creative and financial decisions that don’t align with your own philosophy. I believe Black Adam was one of those films that got entangled in this web of fresh leadership.”
So, the question remains: Will you tune into Black Adam if the Rock isn’t part of the cast?
