Selena Gomez shares her struggles with lupus and a recent kidney transplant from her friend, Francia Raisa.
Earlier today, Selena Gomez posted a post-op photo of her and Raisa and revealed to fans why she had been laying low lately.
“I found out I needed to get a kidney transplant due to my Lupus and was recovering. It was what I needed to do for my overall health.”
Gomez, 25, received a kidney from her Raisa, 29, and had this to say “there aren’t words to describe how I can possibly thank my beautiful friend… She gave me the ultimate gift and sacrifice by donating her kidney to me.”
Gomez finished her post by saying that lupus continues to be a misunderstood disease and urged her fans to learn more. “For more information regarding Lupus please go to the Lupus Research Alliance website: www.lupusresearch.org/ -by grace through faith”
