Katy Perry is probably leaving “American Idol” after the upcoming season. She’s been a judge since 2018, so this will be her seventh season.
On Monday night’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”, she said, quote, “I love ‘Idol’ so much. It’s connected me with the heart of America. But I need to feel that pulse of my own beat.”
Katy also reminded Jimmy that she’ll be performing in Brazil at the Rock in Rio festival in September, and hinted that she might have new music coming soon.
“American Idol” Season 22 premieres Sunday at 8:00 p.m. Eastern on ABC.
